01Who we are
Vrankly is a keyword rank-tracking and SEO service at vrankly.com and app.vrankly.com, operated by VerveDev Inc., a company based in Ontario, Canada ("Vrankly", "we", "us"). This policy covers the website, the web app and the emails we send.
We're responsible for the personal information described here. Our privacy contact is reachable at [email protected].
If your organization added you to Vrankly, your organization decides which websites and keywords are tracked; we handle the information on its behalf and on ours as described below.
02What we collect
Information you give us
Information from Google, if you connect Search Console
When a project admin connects Google Search Console, Google shares the email of the Google account used and a read-only access grant (scope: webmasters.readonly). We store that grant encrypted and use it to import, for the property you choose, daily clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, overall and per search query. We can't change anything in your Search Console account.
Information collected automatically
Public web data we gather for you
To do its job, Vrankly collects public information about websites rather than people: search results for your keywords, keyword search volumes and difficulty, backlink data, PageSpeed results, and the pages of your own site found by our crawler (VranklyBot, which follows robots.txt). Search results can include other businesses' names and pages; we use them only to show you rankings.
03How we use it
- To run Vrankly: check rankings on your schedule, crawl and score your site, import Search Console data, answer assistant questions, build and email reports, and send the alerts you set up.
- To manage accounts and billing: create your account, process payments, apply plan limits, and send receipts and billing notices.
- To send service emails: invitations, password resets, order confirmations, receipts, failed-payment notices, plan changes, alerts and scheduled reports. These are part of the service; we don't send marketing newsletters unless you ask for them.
- To keep Vrankly secure and reliable: prevent abuse, investigate problems and keep an audit trail.
- To improve the product, using aggregated usage counts (never the contents of your projects to train AI models).
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax and accounting records.
We don't sell personal information, use it for advertising, or build profiles of you.
04Google user data
In practice: Search Console data is shown only to members of the organization that owns the project and in the reports they create. We don't use it for advertising, don't sell it, don't use it to train AI models, and don't share it with anyone except as needed to provide the features you use or as required by law. People at Vrankly don't read it unless you ask us to help, for security reasons, or where the law requires.
Disconnecting Search Console in Project settings deletes the stored grant and every imported Search Console number for that project immediately. You can also remove Vrankly's access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
07Where your information is stored
Vrankly's servers and database are hosted in North America on infrastructure operated by our parent company. Some of our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. When that happens, the information is protected by our contracts with them, and it may be accessible to authorities under those countries' laws.
08How long we keep it
- Account, organization and project data: for as long as your account is open. When you delete a project we archive it, and we erase its data when you ask us to or when you close your account.
- Search Console data: until you disconnect it (then deleted immediately) or close your account.
- Billing records: seven years after the transaction, as Canadian tax law requires.
- Unfinished checkouts: a password entered in a checkout that's never paid is deleted when the order expires (within two days).
- Background job records: 30 days (90 for failed jobs). The audit log: for as long as the organization exists.
When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except what we must keep by law.
09How we protect it
- All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes; sign-in refresh tokens are stored hashed; Search Console grants are encrypted at rest.
- Access inside an organization follows roles (owner, admin, member, viewer), and every sensitive action is logged.
- Our crawler only fetches public pages of the sites you track and blocks requests to private networks.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we'll notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires. Report a vulnerability to [email protected].
10Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- See and update your details in Your profile, and your organization's details and members in Organization.
- Disconnect Search Console, remove members, delete alerts and reports, and stop scheduled report emails.
- Ask for a copy of your personal information, a correction, or deletion of your account.
- Withdraw consent to optional processing (like Search Console). Some processing is needed to provide Vrankly, so withdrawing it may mean closing your account.
Email [email protected] from your account's address. We'll answer within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a US state with a privacy law, you have similar rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection), and we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, and your consent for Search Console. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
11Children
Vrankly is a business tool and isn't meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children; if you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.
12Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll email account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect.
